NAVIGATION AND MOUNTAIN SKILLS COURSES

WHAT IS IT? Courses on navigation which are tailored to suit the individual, qualifications can be gained using the National Navigation Award Scheme.

As part of the course general mountain skills such as equipment choice, weather interpretation, safety, emergency procedure and planning will be included.

WHO IS IT FOR? Anyone with any level of experience who wants to become more self sufficient in the hills.

WHAT IS INCLUDED? Maps, compass, headtorch can be borrowed. A pick up service can be included depending on demand.

MOUNTAIN GUIDING, WILD CAMPING, MOUNTAIN SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

WHAT IS IT? A guided day in the hills of Cumbria, either the most popular routes of the lake district or the lesser known ones, taking in tarns, ghylls, plunge pools, awesome vistas and water falls, scrambling on rock or simply walking an easy trail. The walks will consider the geology and landscape, flora and fauna, history and land use as you exercise the legs and lungs. You can chose to learn navigation and security on steep ground if you wish to.

WHO IS IT FOR? Anyone who wants a guided walk or a refresher before tackling an NGB award such as Walking Group Leader or Mountain Leader Summer.
